The Weakerthans
The Weakerthans are a four-piece independent rock band founded in 1997, near the geographical centre of North America, in Winnipeg, Canada.
Sonically located in the finest tradition of Punk, The Weakerthans walk an archipelago of influences from rock to folk to alt-country and beyond, led by lyrics tutored in the best of contemporary literature and progressive politics.
Their first full-length recording, Fallow, was named one of the ten best albums of 1998 by CBC National Radio, album of the year by Perimeter Magazine, and received positive reviews all over North America and Europe. Their second full-length recording, Left and leaving, released by G7 Welcoming Committee Records to rave reviews across Canada and the US, was nominated for a Juno Award, and brought home 3 awards at the 2000 Prairie Music Awards (best independent recording, best rock video, best album design).
In 2003, the band signed with Epitaph for future recordings.

Stephen Carroll (guitar, back vocals), John K. Samson (guitar, lead vocals), Jason Tait (drums, saw, etc).
